Abstract
The paper examines contemporary aspects of using artificial intelligence (AI) in the educational activities of technical university students within the context of digital transformation in engineering education. Organizational and pedagogical aspects include the analysis of experience, frequency, and purposes of using AI tools, as well as assessing students' attitudes toward the opportunities and risks associated with this technology. Based on an empirical study conducted through a survey of 180 students, key areas of AI application are identified–programming, solving mathematical problems, data analysis, and automation of routine operations. Challenges such as academic integrity, reliability of results, and the potential impact on the development of critical thinking are also examined. The results emphasize the need for targeted integration of AI-related modules into curricula, aimed at fostering responsible and effective use of these technologies by future engineers.
